An Elements article is a good choice when the topic or announcement is applicable to the Lab population as a whole. For example, the announcement is applicable to all researchers, or all Ops staff, or both.
Things to keep in mind:
- When you submit an article for Elements it will be placed into the “Good to know” section. This is toward the bottom of the daily Elements emails (below the fold), and these are not as noticeable as the research articles at the top of the Elements email that are the primary stories.
- Simply put, your article will not be as visible as a primary story, so do not rely on Elements as a sure fire way to reach your customers.
- Because of this, we recommend that when you use Elements articles you also send a targeted email that will go directly to your customers. This is not always necessary, but it will likely increase the number of people who read your message.
- Think of Elements articles and targeted emails as complimenting each other.
