After a hiatus during the pandemic, EHS will resume conducting safety surveys of laboratories and other technical areas. These surveys – referred to as Laboratory and Technical Area Safety Surveys, or LATSS – focus on various aspects of safety including chemical storage, electrical hazards, and housekeeping, and will be performed every two years. In the video below Rain Talosig, LBL’s new Laboratory Safety Specialist, introduces herself and explains the role of the surveys in helping keep workers safe, and describes what to expect in the coming weeks and months as the surveys roll out.
