The Lab will start its second cycle of site-wide, wall-to-wall hazardous chemical inventory reconciliations using the new radio frequency identification (RFID) process in August, beginning with Buildings 30 and 33; Buildings 67, 72, 62, and 66 will follow in September.
All labs will complete reconciliations within the coming year (see a full schedule below). Each chemical owner and their representative(s) are responsible for completing the reconciliation, with training and support available from EHS.
Here’s what’s expected from each chemical owner during the reconciliation period:
- Complete chemical inventory reconciliation for each lab within two years from when the lab was last reconciled
- Attend training either in-person or via Zoom, or get help from user guides and training recordings
- Coordinate a Lab and Technical Area Safety Survey with EHS before starting reconciliation, and arrange a post-reconciliation check with EHS after you finish reconciliation
