LBL Health Services has completed its annual vaccination clinic after administering more doses than any prior year! While the clinic has ended, influenza vaccination is still available on an appointment basis, while our supplies last, through Spring of 2026. Due to high demand, we no longer have any 2025-26 COVID vaccine. Please click here to self-schedule your appointment!
Information on vaccination recommendations for Winter/Spring 2025-2026.
The FDA approved the 2025-26 version of the COVID vaccine for a smaller group of individuals than prior. This approval includes only those 65 years old and older, and those under age 65 with at least one health condition putting them at risk for a worse outcome if they were to become infected with COVID. Prior to this, the most recent recommendations and FDA approvals for COVID vaccine were for all individuals 6 months of age and over, for at least some form of the vaccine. Standards of care in medical practice do permit licensed healthcare professionals to use medications beyond FDA-approval when the balance of benefit and risk is felt to be acceptable by experts. Along these lines, two authoritative medical bodies for children (AAP) and pregnant women (ACOG) issued statements to this effect, recommending COVID vaccine be available to all patients 6 months of age and older, as in the past. Similar guidance was issued by UC Health and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Recommendations and FDA approval for influenza vaccination was unchanged from the past: with few exceptions (e.g., prior severe adverse reaction or known allergy to a component of the vaccine), vaccination was recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older.
Though health insurers may base their payment for vaccination based on FDA-approval, all vaccinations given at LBL are free of charge.
Respiratory virus season continues into the spring of 2026. For more information about how to protect yourselves, your families and your coworkers, visit the Health Services webpage on the subject.
