Subcontractors are required to comply with the Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Non-Emergency Regulations, at a minimum. In addition, the “COVID-19 Safety Protocols for Subcontractors and Vendors” outlines the most current onsite requirements at LBNL. These protocols and more are found on the LBNL COVID-19 website.

Training
All contractors and their employees entering LBNL property to perform any type of work are required to complete the following two (2) training courses before starting work. Additional LBNL-specific training may be required; this will be communicated by your CM.

- LBNL General Employee Radiological Training (GERT) Instructions:
- Complete the online training EHS0470, General Employee Radiological Training
- After you complete the training, choose I do not have a Berkeley Lab login and follow all directions (click here for more information).
- You will receive an email (verifying completion). Forward the email to your Subcontractor Onsite Health and Safety Representative for documentation retention. Subcontractors are responsible for maintaining all training records and making them available to LBNL upon request.
- LBNL Construction Safety Orientation Instructions:
- Complete the online training EHS 00117, Construction Safety Orientation
- After you complete the training, choose I do not have a Berkeley Lab login and follow all directions (click here for more information).
- You will receive an email (verifying completion). Forward the email to your Subcontractor Onsite Health and Safety Representative for documentation retention. Subcontractors are responsible for maintaining all training records and making them available to LBNL upon request.

Other training required by Federal and State regulations shall be provided by your company.
Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
All subcontractors performing construction work must submit a SSSP in accordance with the SSSP instructions. Send the completed SSSP and submittals, along with all JHA documents and plans, to your PM/CM or LBNL contact for review of “Completeness” and “Acceptance”.
