
Overview:
FMLA allows for Qualifying Exigency Leave or Military Caregiver Leave if you or a family member is serving in the military.

| Description | Examples |
| *Time off to care for an injured or ill service member. *Time off due to issues caused by a family members active duty or call to duty. | *Taking 8 weeks to care for son who was injured in active duty and needs care. *You take several separate days to take spouse to medical appointments. |
Eligibility:
- Must have worked for the lab for at least 12 months
- Must have worked 1,250 hours in the past 12 months
- Must provide declaration of relationship
What You Get:
- Up to 12 weeks of protected leave (Qualifying Exigency)
- Up to 26 weeks of protected leave (Military Caregiver Leave)
- Continued health benefits
Steps to Take:
- Request leave from IDAM
- Provide declaration of relationship
