
Overview:
For chronic conditions, therapy appointments, or flare-ups, FMLA/CFRA allows intermittent leave or reduced work hours.

| Description | Examples |
| *Leave can be taken in separate blocks, as needed *Work schedule may be temporarily reduced. | *2 hours to attend an appointment at the end of the day for treatment. *Every other week, 1 day off to attend a prenatal appointment. *1 hour after lunch to attend couseling. |
Eligibility:
- Must have worked for the lab for at least 12 months
- Must have worked 1,250 hours in the past 12 months
- Medical documentation must specify intermittent need
What You Get:
- Leave in small increments (days or hours)
- Continued health insurance
Steps to Take:
- Submit a leave request form
- Have your health provider complete the medical certification form
- Send documents to idam@lbl.gov
