Effective April 5, 2023, Health Services staff and visitors will no longer be required to wear a mask when inside the B26 Health Services facility. Masking requirements will now be the same as the lab wide masking requirements, which are tied to the CDC Community levels. This change is in alignment with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) health officer order requiring individuals to follow the State’s Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings. Both Alameda County and the City of Berkeley are in alignment with the state.
* As of May 12, 2023, CDC replaced Community Levels with hospital admission levels, which will be used pending further information.
Reminder, do NOT come to any Lab site or interact with others on official business if you tested positive for COVID-19 or have any symptoms. Follow CDC guidelines for isolation, which includes masking for 10 full days. Be sure to contact Health Services at 510-486-6266 for specific guidance for returning to the Lab or for any COVID-related health concern.
If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or who tested positive, you do NOT need to quarantine or call Health Services, as long as you are asymptomatic. You must wear a mask for 10 full days when around others indoors, get tested after Day 5 following the exposure, and follow the CDC guidelines for exposure.
As of May 11, 2023, the weekly Symptom Check for LBNL badge holders has been eliminated. Daily self-monitoring for symptoms is encouraged prior to accessing any Lab facilities.
