Categorization of 3D Printers
The California Fire Code defines 3D printers as a machine used in the additive manufacturing process for fabricating objects through the deposition of a material using a print head, nozzle, or other printer technology (California Fire Code 2022, Section 320).
Safety & Compliance
The determination of hazards, associated controls, and final additive manufacturing (3D printing) categorization will be made during the Hazard Assessment.
