All employees who come to a Lab site will need to be vaccinated against influenza. This policy does not apply to employees who are working away from a Lab site. This requirement follows a UC policy that requires the flu vaccination for employees working on site. Those who do not work on a Lab site are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated to reduce the risk of serious illness.
Employees working on site will need to confirm they are vaccinated in the Lab’s Occupational Health Record system (OHR)once upgrades have been made to the software. Employees who have badged into a Lab site in the last 30 days will be sent an instructional email from the Occupational Health Record system when the update is completed. Employees who do not report they have received a flu vaccine will need to wear a face-covering inside all Lab facilities until the flu season is over, usually in April, even if COVID face-covering requirements are lifted.
Health Services has already vaccinated about one-third of the employees who regularly work at a Lab site. Health Services will have additional on-site flu vaccination clinics this week on Tuesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, Nov. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Additional clinics are scheduled on Tuesday, Nov. 9 and 16 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, Nov. 11 and 18 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
You can schedule an appointment by going to clinic.lbl.gov>2021 flu clinic appointment>schedule a new appointment. You can also receive your flu shot at community locations such as pharmacies. Lab health plans cover flu vaccinations without a copay. You can learn more about this year’s flu vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control.
Lab staff will be notified when the OHR system is updated and you can attest to your vaccination. If you have questions please send them to covidinfo@lbl.gov.
